Why is this necessary?
When launching a single player game or a host & play session, V Rising launches a dedicated server as a separate process. However, by default, this server does not have mods installed. As a result, players need to manually install mods on both the client and the bundled server to utilize them effectively.
What does Server Launch Fix do?
Server Launch Fix streamlines the mod installation process by configuring the server to use the same mods installed on the client. This means that mods only need to be installed in one location. The mod achieves this by automatically copying the mod loader from the client to the server before launch and configuring it to load mods from the same location as the client. Additionally, it creates a BepInEx_Server directory for the server to store state such as cache and unhollowed DLLs. Mods themselves are accessed via symlinks, ensuring efficient usage and management.
Limitations:
- On the first launch of the server, it may time out connecting as it builds the unhollowed DLL cache required by mods. If timeouts occur, attempt to relaunch a few times. If the issue persists, seek support.
- Not compatible with non-NTFS file systems.
- The doorstop_config.ini and BepInEx.cfg of the server will be overwritten on every launch.
